Skin feels tight after showering? Often it is not "bad skin" but five easy habits to correct.

On this page
Dry skin after showering is common, especially in dry climates and with air conditioning. Here are five mistakes we see most often — and how to fix them without changing your whole bathroom routine.
Mistake 1: water that is too hot
Hot water dissolves the skin’s surface lipids. Switch to lukewarm water, especially in the evening.
Mistake 2: using too much gel
More lather does not mean cleaner skin. A small amount is enough. Try the orange blossom shower gel or the grapefruit shower gel with a minimal dose.
Mistake 3: scrubbing with a rough mitt
Prefer your hands or a soft mitt; mechanical exfoliation does not belong in every shower.
Mistake 4: skipping care within 3 minutes
Apply oil or cream on still-damp skin to limit water evaporation.
Mistake 5: ignoring the season
In winter or with heating on, use a gentler gel and reduce very woody scents if your skin reacts.
